La presente tesis está dedicada a la resistencia armada al franquismo en los años cuarenta en el norte de Cáceres y sur de Salamanca. Tiene como objetivo principal demostrar la responsabilidad de los colaboradores y enlaces de la guerrilla en su decadencia y desaparición. La hipótesis de la que partimos es que el apoyo popular adolecía, en la mayoría de los casos, de un compromiso relevante con el maquis. Principalmente por su exigua politización, su escaso nivel cultural y, sobre todo, por tener un miedo atroz a la represión ejercida por el Régimen. Mediante la investigación llevada a cabo, pretendemos demostrar la contribución de esas circunstancias en la prematura derrota de la resistencia armada en la zona. Para conseguir los objetivos, hemos abordado de forma exhaustiva el Archivo General e Histórico del Ministerio de Defensa Se han consultado un centenar de sumarios. Del total de estas causas, la mitad están directamente relacionadas con los hechos desarrollados, y solamente un par de ellas están recogidas en la bibliografía consultada. Por consiguiente, la mayor parte de los sumarios resultan inéditos en los trabajos realizados sobre la guerrilla y constituyen el aporte original de la tesis.

This thesis is dedicated to the armed resistance to the Franco regime in the 1940s in the North of Cáceres and South of Salamanca. It is aimed to demonstrate the responsibility of contributors and links of the guerrillas in their decline and disappearance. The hypothesis that we start is that popular support was, in most cases, a relevant commitment with the maquis. Mainly because of its meager politicization, their low level of cultural and, above all, for having a dreadful fear a crackdown by the regime. Through the research carried out, we intend to demonstrate the contribution of these circumstances in the early defeat of resistance in the area. To achieve the above objectives, we have addressed comprehensively the General Archive and Historical of the Ministry of Defence. Viewed hundreds of summaries. The total of these causes, half are directly related to the events developed, and only a couple of them are collected in the literature. Therefore, most of the summaries are unpublished on the work carried out on the guerrillas and constitutes the original contribution of the thesis.
