    La consagración y reconocimiento del voto de la mujer en América Latina ha sido considerado como una reivindicación tanto jurídica como política. No obstante, en el estudio de la historia jurídica colombiana, poco se aborda la Constitución de Vélez de 1853, la cual consagró por primera vez este derecho, y que, en razón a su contexto histórico, no fue plenamente materializada.

    The recognition of the women vote in Latin America has been regarded as a vindication both legally and politically. However, the study of legal history is shortly discussed on Colombian Velez Constitution of 1853, that consecrated the first time this right, and due to its historical context, was not fully realized.
