Usos medicinales del chopo negro (Populus nigra L.)

    El objetivo principal de este trabajo es avanzar en la investigación aplicada al aprovechamiento integral y sustentable del chopo negro y sus híbridos.

    El objetivo secundario es exponer de forma clara y ordenada los usos medicinales de estos árboles a lo largo de la historia y en la actualidad, construyendo una herramienta de trabajo útil para nuevas investigaciones, demostrando que es una planta de uso tradicional, base de remedios tan antiguos como eficaces. Es también objetivo secundario proporcionar consejos prácticos para la recolección de las yemas y la resina dirigidos a una explotación del recurso con mínimo impacto ambiental.

    Se ha realizado una búsqueda sistemática en PubMed, Dialnet, Google Books, Google Académico, base de Tesis doctorales TESEO y lista de productos autorizados para consumo humano por la Food and Drug Administration. Se ha utilizado la herramienta Research Gate. También investigación de los preparados a base de chopo negro actualmente en venta y trabajo de campo para observación in-­situ de la droga.

    Los resultados obtenidos se presentan en varias tablas. El trabajo de campo ha dado como resultado la obtención de fotografías, macro-­fotografías y muestras de la droga para la descripción de sus caracteres organolépticos, así como información práctica útil de cara a una recolección bien planificada.

    Tras el análisis de los datos recogidos puede decirse que el uso medicinal del chopo negro fue importante y diverso en la antigüedad y en medicina popular, centrándose a partir del S.XV en el ungüento antihemorroidal Populeon. Existe en la actualidad notable interés en sus propiedades antioxidantes y algunas de las antiguas aplicaciones pueden recuperarse

    The main objective of this work is to improve the aplied research and the integral and sustainable utilization of black poplar and its hybrids.

    The secondary objective is to show in a clear and systematic way the medicinal uses of these trees throughout the history and today, building a useful tool for further research works, demonstrating that is a plant of traditional use based in old and effective remedies. It is also a secondary objetive to provide practical advices for the collection of the bud and resin in order of the use of this resource with the minimum environnemental impact.

    There has been a search in Pubmed, Dialnet, Google Books, Google Scholar, TESEO«s doctoral thesis database and the list of products approved for human consumption in the Food and Drug Administration. The tool Research Gate has been also used. A research on currentlly comercialised preparations based in black poplar has been made, together with field work to do in situ observations of the drug.

    The results obtained are presented in multiple tables. The field work provides photographs, macro-­photographs and samples of the drug used for the description of its organoleptic characteristics, as well as practical information on a well conceived collection plan.

    The analysis of the data can said that medicinal use of black poplar was important and diverse in the past, and focused on the Populeon Ointment after the XVIcentury. There is currently considerably interest in its antioxidant properties and some of the old applications can be recovered
