El síndrome del robo de la subclavia fue descrito por primera vez por Contorni y se debe a la oclusión o estenosis severa de la arteria subclavia, proximal al origen de la arteria vertebral. En este síndrome hay una inversión del flujo en la arteria vertebral, causando hipoperfusión cerebral y como consecuencia síntomas tales como mareos, síncopes y alteraciones visuales. Los autores pretenden describir un caso de síndrome de robo de la subclavia y hacer una revisión del diagnóstico y tratamiento de este síndrome
The subclavian steal syndrome was first described by Contorni and is due to the occlusion or severe stenosis of the subclavian artery, proximal to the origin of the vertebral artery. In this syndrome there is an inversion of the flow in the vertebral artery, causing symptoms due to cerebral hypoperfusion, such as dizziness, syncope and visual disturbances. The authors intend to describe a case of Subclavian Steal Syndrome and review the diagnosis and treatment of this disease
