Este trabajo aborda la cuestión de la integración social del inmigrante en España desde el punto de vista de los derechos y de la aproximación empírica a la realidad de dicha integración. Para ello, en primer lugar enmarca la integración en el seno de un proceso de inclusión/ exclusión de tipo jurídico. Señala los principales obstáculos que afectan a la eficacia de las normas y de los principios relacionados con la integración, así la visión instrumental del inmigrante o el reduccionismo laboral y cómo estos obstáculos afectan a la medición del proceso de integración con indicadores. Finalmente se señalan algunas propuestas para sofisticar y mejorar el acercamiento a la medición del proceso de integración a través del uso de indicadores de derechos.

This article examines the question of the social integration of the immigrant in Spain from the point of view of the rights and the empirical approximation to the reality of that process. For it, first of all frames the integration process in the bosom of an historical, wider and juridical inclusión/exclusion process. It indicates the principal obstacles concerning the efficiency of the rules and princuples related to the integration. In this meaning, the article deals with the instrumental vision of the immigrant and how this vision concern the social tools (indicators) and the measurement of the whole process of integration.
Finally, it offers some proposals for improving the measurement of the process of integration across the use of indicators of rights.
