    Desde hace algunos años, empezamos a encontrar en las parrillas televisivas espacios que buscan y proponen invitaciones a la reconciliación y que rompen tanto con cierto discurso hegemónico sobre los peligros de la inmigración como con los formatos más habituales, los informativos. Suelen presentarse como espacios divulgativos y culturales, animados por una orientación más social y humana hacia las problemáticas de la inmigración y de la interculturalidad. Paradójicamente, estos espacios, innovadores no sólo por su formato sino por la manera de articular los contenidos, no encajan bien en las parrillas de las televisiones generalistas, donde brillan por su ausencia. Este artículo presenta los resultados de una breve exploración en las ofertas recientes de programas que podríamos considerar “ejemplares” sobre el tratamiento del otro en el discurso televisivo.

    Des de fa uns quants anys, comencem a trobar a les graelles televisives espais que busquen i proposen invitacions a la reconciliació i que trenquen tant amb un cert discurs hegemònic sobre els perills de la immigració com amb els formats més habituals, els informatius. Solen presentar-se com a espais divulgatius i culturals, animats per una orientació més social i humana envers les problemàtiques de la immigració i de la interculturalitat. Paradoxalment, aquests espais, innovadors no només pel seu format, sinó per la manera d’articular els continguts, no encaixen bé en les graelles de les televisions generalistes, on brillen per la seva absència. Aquest article presenta els resultats d’una breu exploració en les ofertes recents de programes que podríem considerar “exemplars” sobre el tractament de l’altre en el discurs televisiu.

    For a number of years now we have begun to see spaces on television schedules that seek and propose invitations to reconciliation and which break both with a certain hegemonic discourse about the dangers of immigration and with more regular formats such as the news. They usually take the shape of reports and cultural programmes, encouraged by a more social and human orientation about the problems of immigration and interculturism. Paradoxically, these programmes, innovative not just in terms of format but also in their way of articulating content, are not easy to fit into general station programming schedules, where they are conspicuous by their absence. This article presents the results of a brief exploration of the recent programme offers that could be considered ‘exemplary’ of the treatment of ‘the other’ in the television discourse.
