  • Resumen
    • This paper focuses on the concept of ideology and its relationship to language, translation and the training of translators. In order to unmask the fact that language has served as vehicle to different ideologies, I present a model for the analysis of ideological texts, which I have applied in my translation classes to analyse a corpus of German texts about the German reunification. The model comprises parameters from several areas of Linguistics and Social Sciences, the Critical Discourse Analysis and most of the current approaches to Translation Studies. On the other hand, we are witnessing an increasing interest for the analysis of electronic corpus using specialized software, not only in the teaching of foreign languages, but also in the teaching of translation. Therefore, in this paper I will describe how to use WordSmith Tools during translation classes to analyse the above mentioned corpus in order to compare it with the traditional analysis method. Comparing these two methods in the translation class will allow me to discover their limitations and the areas where they can complement each other and optimize the training of translators.
