La filosofía de Protágoras ha sido muy estudiada desde la perspectiva filosófica. En especial, desde el punto de vista de Platón y Aristóteles, generalmente atendiendo a los aspectos del relativismo antropológico o individualista con el que aparece en los manuales. Sin embargo, caben otras lecturas de este autor, en especial las que se refieren a la estética. Aquí es un autor muy poco estudiado en parte porque algunas traducciones omiten el término "ta kalá", las cosas bellas o la belleza. Precisamente un análisis sobre estos textos puede esclarecer problemas de máxima actualidad, como la visión institucional respecto a lo que es o no arte y a lo que puede o no entrar en los museos o ser susceptible de subvenciones. Un análisis en profundidad de lo que Protágoras brevemente dice puede ser máximamente actual para nuestros problemas estéticos.

Protagoras’ philosophy has been very studied from the philosophical perspective. Especially, from Plato’s point of view and Aristotle, generally assisting the aspects of the anthropological relativism or individualist with which appears in the manuals. However, they fit this author’s readings, especially those that refer to the aesthetics. Here he is a very little author studied partly because some translations omit the term «ta kalá», the beautiful things or the beauty. In fact an analysis on these texts can clarify problems of maximum present time, as the institutional vision regarding what is or non art and to what can or not to enter in the museums or susceptible being of grants. An analysis in depth of that that Protagoras shortly says it can be maximumly current for our aesthetic problems.
