    En el presente trabajo trataremos de esbozar un análisis crítico de los distintos elementos discursivos que configuran el concepto de buen vivir o Sumak Kawsay, que tanta relevancia ha adquirido en el proyecto social y político desarrollado en los últimos años por el gobierno de la República del Ecuador, hasta el punto de quedar plasmado y consagrado en la vigente Constitución de 2008, enlazándolo con la medición y evaluación de sus logros reales de acción gubernamental y de políticas públicas mediante la construcción de un índice del buen vivir. A fin de comprobar si los objetivos estratégicos de desarrollo declarados en el Plan Nacional del Buen Vivir se han podido cumplir o llevar a término en mayor o menor medida, y cómo estos llegan a explicar los propios itinerarios discursivos del Sumak Kawsay.

    In this paper we will try to sketch out a critical analysis of the various discursive elements that make up the concept of Buen Vivir or Sumak Kawsay that much relevance has acquired in the social and political project developed in recent years by the government of the Republic of Ecuador, to the point of being embodied and enshrined in the current Constitution of 2008, linking it with the measurement and evaluation of their actual achievements of government action and public policy through a Buen Vivir Index. Checking whether the strategic development objectives stated in the National Plan for Good Living have been able to achieve, greater or lesser extent, and how they come to explain the discursive itineraries of the Sumak Kawsay.
