    El objeto de este estudio es el análisis específico de las disposiciones de la Constitución republicana de 1931 relacionadas con el Derecho Internacional. La Constitución republicana introdujo en aquel momento sus-tanciales innovaciones y desarrollos en las relaciones entre el Derecho Internacional y el Derecho interno español y plasmó importantes compromisos internacionalistas de España, especialmente con la Sociedad de las Naciones y sus principios, que resultaron finalmente efímeros con la Guerra Civil y la derrota republicana. Estos elementos se reflejaban, especialmente, en las previsiones sobre la renuncia a la guerra y la limitación del uso de la fuerza, sobre la incorporación de las normas universales del Derecho Internacional y la recepción automática de los tratados internacionales y en un reiterado reconocimiento de la virtualidad y adhesión a la Sociedad de las Naciones.

    The purpose of this study is specifically to analyse the provisions of the 1931 Republican Constitution relating to International Law. At that time, the Republican Constitution introduced substantial innovations and developments in the relationship between International Law and Spanish domestic law, and embodied important internationalist commitments on the part of Spain, especially with regard to the League of Nations and its principles, which ultimately proved to be ephemeral because of the Spanish Civil War and the Republican defeat. These elements were reflected in particular in the provisions on the renunciation of war and the limitation of the use of force, the incorporation of the universal norms of international law and the automatic acceptance of international treaties, as well as in the repeated recognition of the virtues of and adherence to the League of Nations.
