Resumen de La judería de Briviesca en la Edad Media: una aproximación histórica-documental

En este artículo se realiza un recorrido histórico de la judería de Briviesca a través de una exhaustiva compilación documental de fuentes diversas, tratando de ofrecer un análisis de las principales etapas en la génesis, desarrollo y posterior desaparición de su aljama, desde el s. XII hasta el s. XV. Se presta especial atención a la ubicación espacial del barrio judío, a las actividades comerciales, recaudatorias y crediticias de sus judíos bajo dominio real y nobiliario, así como a su cultura material. Se destacan asimismo algunas referencias de esta aljama en fuentes hebreas, y en documentación procedente del Archivo Capitular de Burgos y Archivo Histórico Nacional.

This article provides a historical overview of the Jews of Briviesca through an exhaustive documentary compilation of different sources, attempting to offer an analysis of the main stages in the genesis, development and subsequent disappearance of its aljama, from the 12th to the 15th century. Special attention is paid to the spatial location of the Jewish quarter, to the commercial, tax collection and credit activities of its Jews under royal and noble rule, as well as to its material culture. It also highlights some references to this aljama in Hebrew sources and in documentation from the Burgos Cathedral Archive and the National Historical Archive.
