Las personas que trabajan por cuenta propia infringen las normas de competencia de la UE si negocian colectivamente sus condiciones de trabajo. Sin embargo, a algunas les resulta muy difícil influir en sus condiciones de trabajo. El objetivo de las «Directrices sobre la aplicación del Derecho de la competencia de la Unión a los convenios colectivos relativos a las condiciones laborales de las personas que trabajan por cuenta propia sin asalariados» es garantizar que la legislación de competencia de la UE no se interponga en el camino de sus negociaciones y acuerdos colectivos. Para lograr este objetivo, la Comisión identifica a los autónomos a los que no se les debería impedir negociar y acordar colectivamente sus condiciones de trabajo; y proporciona claridad en cuanto a la aplicación de la ley de competencia de la UE a sus convenios colectivos.

Self-employed people infringe EU competition rules if they negotiate collectively their working conditions. However, certain self-employed find it very difficult to influence their working conditions. The objective of the Commission «Guidelines on the application of Union competition law to collective agreements regarding the working conditions of solo self-employed persons» is to ensure that EU competition law does not stand in the way of collective negotiations and agreements about working conditions for selfemployed people having little influence over their working conditions. To achieve this objective, the Commission identify those self-employed people who should not be hindered to negotiate and agree collectively their working conditions; and provide clarity as to the application of EU competition law on collective agreements regarding the working conditions of self-employed people.
