Gil de Siloé (m. s. XV-1505) fue el máximo representante de la escultura tardogótica burgalesa y uno de los escultores más importantes de Castilla en el período comprendido entre finales del siglo XV y principios del XVI. Dejó su huella en la catedral de Burgos, en la cual labró el fastuoso retablo de la capilla de la Concepción, uno de los ejemplares más sorprendentes de la retablística española. Asimismo hablaremos de otras tres obras que se le asignan: las puertas del claustro alto, el retablo de santa Ana de la capilla de los Condestables y unos restos del posible primitivo retablo mayor de la referida capilla.

Gil de Siloé (mid-15th c.-1505) was the greatest representative of late Gothic sculpture in Burgos and one of the most important sculptors in Castile in the period between the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th. He left his mark in the Cathedral of Burgos, for which he built the sumptuous altarpiece in the Chapel of the Conception, one of the most surprising examples of the Spanish reredos tradition. In addition we will talk about three other works assigned to him: the doors of the upper cloister, the altarpiece of Saint Anne in the Chapel of the Constables and some remains of the possible original altarpiece of the aforementioned chapel.
