Escritos árabes en la techumbre de la mezquita de Tórtoles (Tarazona, Zaragoza)

    La mezquita del barrio de Tórtoles de Tarazona ha conservado parte de su techumbre original de madera pintada que se data en una etapa mudéjar tardía. Se editan, traducen y estudian aquí por primera vez sus epígrafes en árabe. Una viga lleva un fragmento poético clásico de carácter nostálgico, sin significado religioso. El lateral de otra, muy dañada, celebraba el fin de las obras de ampliación. Las tabicas han permitido leer otros escritos: uno que conmemora trabajos en el edificio en 1454, fragmentos coránicos, un hadiz y varias jaculatorias piadosas; también se ven los nombres de algunos personajes responsables de las obras. Del análisis estilístico de las grafías se concluye que la caligrafía es cursiva de tipo monumental, similar a la utilizada en los títulos de manuscritos árabes aragoneses y que en su realización intervinieron al menos dos personas diferentes

    The mosque of the neighborhood of Tórtoles of Tarazona has retained part of its original painted wooden roof where one can see some Arabic texts dating back to late Mudejar times. This article studies for the first time these Arabic passages and offers the edition and translation of each one of them. A beam has preserved in good condition a classical poetic fragment with a nostalgic character. Another beam, severely damaged, celebrates the end of the expansion works towards the Western side. On the pieces that cover the small spaces between the rafters there are other messages: one that commemorates some building works in the year 1454, Quranic fragments, a hadith and various pious expressions; the names of some of the characters responsible for the works are also remembered. An approach to the calligraphy from the stylistic point of view leads to the conclusion that it is of the monumental cursive type, like that used in the titles of Aragonese Arabic manuscripts. In the realization of the writings we can detect the intervention of at least two different hands
