The Principality of Samos at the beginning of the 20th century, and specifically from 1908, when Andreas Kopasis was appointed as Prince, to the incorporation in Greek State (1912–1915) implemented a separate ecclesiastical policy, and is a completely special historical moment, with special characteristics for the Orthodox Church of Samos, which from the beginning of the establishment of the hegemonic regime was called to function under the absolute sovereignty of the state. Witnesses to this peculiar regime are the archival sources, which basically belong to the archive of the Hegemonic Administrative Office.
