    El propósito es una reflexionar sobre la formación de los deportistas como árbitros y jueces, porque ellos deben ser por su preparación la fuente fundamental de ese proceso en el futuro. Sin embargo, en las indagaciones empíricas realizada no se hallaron suficientes estudios antecedentes directos en esa dirección. Este trabajo se desarrolló como parte del proyecto de investigación: “Gestión hacia la calidad del Arbitraje Deportivo en el Siglo XXI”, basado en los resultados del proyecto “Hacia una Teoría del Arbitraje Deportivo”. Su metodología consistió en la recolección, procesamiento y análisis de la información ofrecida por la muestra seleccionada (deportistas, entrenadores, directivos, árbitros y jueces), mediante la encuesta y la revisión de documentos. Entre los resultados más interesantes, se confirmó la no existencia de una intensión institucional para aprovechar esa fuerza e ir reduciendo en el futuro, la contradicción dada entre el origen de una importante cantidad de jueces de árbitros cubanos y el nivel de la experiencia deportiva alcanzada por ellos. Como conclusiones se aportan argumentos sobre la necesidad de fomentar el interés y motivación de los deportistas para convertirse en árbitros y jueces, en un proceso organizado y planificado, aprovechando los espacios de la preparación del deportista, así como los requisitos y exigencias para la selección de árbitros y jueces.

    The purpose of this paper is to reflect on the formation of the sportsmen as referees and judges, because they should be for their preparations the fundamental source of that process in the future. However, in the empiric inquiries carried out they were not enough direct antecedent studies in that sense. This work was developed as part of the investigation project: “Management toward the quality of the Sport Arbitration in the XXI Century”, based on the results of the project “Toward a Theory of the Sport Arbitration”. Its methodology consisted on the gathering, prosecution and analysis of the information offered by the selected sample (sportsmen, coaches, managers, referees and judges), by means of the survey and the checking of documents. Among the most interesting results, it was confirmed the non-existence of an institutional intension to take advantage of that force and to go reducing in the future the contradiction given among the origin of an important quantity of judges of Cuban referees and the level of their sport experience. As conclusions, arguments are contributed about the necessity of fomenting the interest and the sportsmen's motivation to become referees and judges, in an organized and planned process, taking advantage of the spaces of the sportsman's preparation, as well as the requirements and demands for the referees and judges selection.
