María del Milagro Rey Hombre (1930-2014) foi a segunda muller galega e a oitava española en terminar a titulación de Arquitectura no ano 1960, ademais de ser a primeira muller arquitecta en exercer profesionalmente de maneira individual en Galicia. Dos máis de mil cincocentos proxectos que conforman o fondo do Colexio Oficial de Arquitectos de Galicia –delegación da Coruña– e que están custodiados polo Arquivo do Reino de Galicia, máis dunha trintena localízanse no Concello de Betanzos. E destes, tan só cinco chegaron a materializarse. O presente artigo pretende expoñer o legado desta arquitecta a través do estudo e análise da súa obra construída no municipio betanceiro.

María del Milagro Rey Hombre (1930-2014) was the second Galician woman –and the eighth Spanish one– that managed to get a degree in Architecture, in the year 1960, and was also the first woman who effectively worked as an Architect by herself in Galicia. Of the more than fifteen hundred projects in the documental base of the A Coruña delegation of the Colexio Oficial de Arquitectos de Galicia (Official Architect Association of Galicia) –custodied in the Arquivo do Reino de Galicia (Archive of the Kingdom of Galicia)– more than thirty are localised in the municipality of Betanzos. Only five of them got to be actually built. The current article aims to expose the legacy of this Architect through the study and analysis of her built works in Betanzos.
