Resumen de Complutum, ciudad de las aguas

  Este trabajo expone datos epigráficos y arqueológicos de la ciudad romana de Complutum. La existencia de varias fuentes monumentales, de fuentes y pozos abundantes en toda la ciudad, y del culto a divinidades acuáticas, permite presentar la hipótesis de la elevada importancia de ríos, manantiales y aguas subterráneas en la cultura, religión y urbanismo de esta ciudad, y especialmente en la elección de su ubicación topográfica.

  This paper exposes epigraphic and archaeological data about Roman city of Complutum. The existence of several monumental fountains, abundant fountains and wells throughout the city, and the cult of aquatic divinities, allows to present the hypothesis of the high importance of rivers, springs and groundwater in the culture, religion and urbanism of this city, and especially in the choice of its topographic location.
