El siglo XIX español es un siglo convulso donde las fuerzas productivas y sociales funcionaban sin la necesidad de depender u obedecer a un sistema de control desfasado que no estaba acorde a las nuevas formas de pensamiento. Todo esto desencadenara en un sinfín de revoluciones y rupturas que en realidad no cambian nada. Además, a esto se suma la tensión teológica dentro de una Iglesia mayoritariamente conservadora y combativa. La Guerra de Independencia dejara una España menos tradicional y actual cuyo mayor exponente serán las Cortes de Cádiz y la Constitución de 1812 que no encajará con la monarquía absoluta que quería implantar Fernando VII. Esta situación no solo se manifestará a nivel nacional, sino que también estará presente en las actas municipales de pueblos como Cehegín.

The Spanish 19th century is a jumpy century where the productive and social forces funtioned without the need to depend on or obey an outdated control system that was not in accordance with the new ways of thinking. All of this will unleash endless revolutions and ruptures that do not really chage anything. In addition, we must not forget the theological tensión within a predominantly conservative an combative Church. The War of Independence will leave a less traditional and current Spain whose greatest exponent will be the Court of Cadiz and the Constitution of 1812 that will not fit in with the absolute monarchy that Fernando VII wanted to implement. This situation will not only manifest itself at the national level, but it will also be present in the municipal acts of towns such as Cehegín.
