Los poblados de las presas, que forman parte de los paisajes del agua, tienen un valor patrimonial. Su estudio muestra las dificultades de su conservación y revalorización.
La construcción de los embalses provoca también alteraciones en el patrimonio cultural.
Ejemplos son el poblado del embalse de Gabriel y Galán y el Pontón de Guijo de Granadilla en la provincia de Cáceres.

The villages of the dams that are part of the water landscapes have a heritage value. The study of it shows the difficulties of its conservation and revaluation of them. The construction of the reservoirs also causes alterations in the cultural heritage. Examples are the vi llage of the Gabriel y Galán reservoir and the village of Guijo de Granadilla pontoon, both in the province of Cáceres
