Resumen de Enseñar literatura en tiempos revueltos: El deseo de leer y la educación literaria

¿Por qué y para qué enseñar hoy literatura en las aulas? ¿Qué hacer con la literatura en la escuela? ¿Cómo educar en el aprecio y en el disfrute de la lectura y de la escritura literarias en estos inicios del siglo xxi y en el contexto de una educación y de una sociedad sometidas a la fascinación de otras ficciones y de otros relatos que inundan la ventana electrónica del televisor y el diluvio de información de internet? En este ensayo aludiremos a asuntos como la evolución de la enseñanza de la literatura a lo largo del tiempo, el debate teórico sobre la identidad del texto literario, el sentido y significado de la educación literaria en el contexto de las actuales sociedades en red, los derechos del lector (y de la lectora) y el deseo de leer;
asimismo, al final se enuncian algunas orientaciones didácticas para el quehacer docente en las aulas de literatura.

Why (and for what purposes) should we teach literature in the classroom today? What should we do with literature at school? How do we educate students in the appreciation and enjoyment of literary reading and writing at the beginning of the 21st century and in the context of an education and a society subjected to the fascination for other kinds of fiction and other stories that flood television screens and to the deluge of information from the internet? In this essay, we will refer to issues such as the evolution of literature teaching over time, the theoretical debate on the identity of the literary text, the sense and relevance of literary education in the context of current networked societies, the rights of the reader, and the desire to read; furthermore, at the end of the essay we provide didactic orientations for literature education in the classroom.
