The author, in this study, makes an assessment of the present state, the nature and the future of anthropology.
For that, the author uses some simple questions and devellopes the study around them: Who are we? That is, where are we coming from? what have we done? what should we do? For the author, the anthropology cannot be governed by a single doctrine or by anyone maitre-penseur, Now is the time for a rational theory of pragmatism rooted in permanent critical vigilance that never stops learning, and learning from the past, from the origins as well as the evolution of the anthropology.

Pour developait sa pensée, I'auteur se pose des questions simples, auteur des quelles il construit son étude: qui sommes nous? Ça veut dire, d'oú vennons nous? Qu'est qu'on fait? Qu est qu on dolt faire? Pour I'auteur, l'anthropologie ne peut pas être gouverné par une seule doutrine ou par quelqu'un maure penseur. C'est le temp pour une theorie rational du pragm.atisme, fondé sur une permanente surveillance critique qui doit toujours aprendre, et aprendre avec le passé, les origines et I'évolution de I'anthropologie.
