Resumen de Transformaciones en las pautas de consumo y crecimiento de la demanda en los orígenes de la industrialización: El tabaco en España, 1735-1886

Starting on the observation of some changes experimented on the habits of the consumers during the XVIII and XIX centuries, this research analyzes the generalization in Spain of the consumption of smoked tobacco, opposite to the most primitive options of sniffed and chewed tobacco. These transformations in the consumer guidelines, that took place in a parallel way with the textile and food -diffusion of cotton, sugar, tea, coffee and chocolate -permitted at the long run the rising of a wide consumption -because of the increasing of income and population - that will make essential the mass production. The conclusion will be,then, to make a new lecture of the industrialization process from these parameters.

A partir de l'observation des transformations qui surgissent dans Ie comportement des consommateurs aux XVIIIe et XIXe siêcles, notre recherche analyse la diffusion en Espagne du tabac fume aux options plus primitives du tabac prisé et chiqué. Ces changements dans les coutumes des consommateurs se produisent àla fois dans l'industrie textile et alimentaire - expansion du coton, du sucre, du thé, du café et du chocolat -. Ceux-ci permirent l'expansion, à long terme, de la consommation et, en raison de la croissanee des revenus et de la population, firent indispensable la prodution en masse. Notre conclusion naus mene donc à une lecture nouvelle du procés d'industrialisation à partir de ces parametres.
