  • Energy efficiency is a major question in the future of cities. Public lighting systems are a large consumer of energy and are one of the best candidates to implement Energy Efficiency programs. To make that step we need to know the characteristics and location of the Public Lighting assets. EDPD launch a large campaign to collect the Public Lighting asset characteristics and its geographical location in Portugal territory. At the end we have characterize 70 thousand electrical circuits and 3 milllion light points. This knowledge allow us to maximize our field operations and support urban requalification initiatives lead by Municipalities. The collected public lighting information is essential to allow future studies and research on efficiency energy initiatives.
