    Nueva lectura de la inscripción árabe de 1366 que figura en la puerta de la sala de la Media Naranja del Alcázar sevillano. Se pasa revista a las varias interpretaciones hechas sobre este epígrafe desde el siglo XVIII. El material utilizado se vincula con la ciudad de Valencia y se propone una identificación del maestro mayor al-Šarafī. Gracias a la información que aporta la nueva lectura, se reflexiona sobre el léxico árabe usado y sobre los datos vinculados con los acontecimientos militares del reinado de Pedro I de Castilla en su guerra contra Pedro IV de Aragón.

    New reading of the Arabic inscription of 1366 on the door of the room of the Half Orange of the Alcazar of Seville. It reviews the various interpretations made of it since the eighteenth century. The wooden material used is linked to the city of Valencia. An identification of master al-Šarafī is proposed. The information provided by the new reading, allow us to meditate on the Arabic terminology used by it and on the data related to the military events of the reign of Peter I of Castile and his war against Peter IV of Aragon.
