La cofradía de Nuestra Señora del Carmen es el resultado de la fusión e integración en 1728 de la antigua cofradía hospitalaria del Cuerpo y Sangre de Cristo (Corpus Christi), anterior a 1507, y de la Hermandad del Rosario de Nuestra Señora del Carmen erigida en 1692. Otras corporaciones carmelitanas fueron la Hermandad del Escapulario del Carmen creada en 1744 y la Venerable Orden Tercera carmelita fundada en 1801.

The Brotherhood of Our Lady of Carmen results from the merger and integration in 1728 of the old hospitable brotherhood of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), before 1507, and of the Brotherhood of the Rosary of Our Lady of Carmen erected in 1692. Other Carmelite corporations were the Carmelite Scapular Brotherhood founded in 1744 and the Venerable Carmelite Third Order founded in 1801.
