Resumen de El ara votiva de Castrogonzalo (Zamora): la divinidad fluvial Cicia, el topónimo Γίγια de Ptolomeo y el nombre antiguo del río Cea

The present work analyzes a votive inscription that appeared in the municipality of Castrogonzalo (Zamora). The study of the monument has made it possible to fully resolve the reading of the theonym as Ciciae or Cigiae, relating it to the toponym Γίγια of Ptolemy, which would be identified with the current town of Cea and with the river of the same name, in whose vicinity the votive altar was found. Consequently, the identification of the toponym Γίγια with the Roman name of the city of Gijón would be unfounded

El presente trabajo analiza una inscripción votiva que apareció en el municipio de Castrogonzalo (Zamora). El estudio del monumento ha permitido resolver plenamente la lectura del teónimo como Ciciae o Cigiae, relacionándolo con el topónimo Γίγια de Ptolomeo, que se identificaría con la localidad actual de Cea y con río del mismo nombre, en cuyas cercanías se halló el ara votiva. En consecuencia, quedaría sin fundamento la identificación del topónimo Γίγια con el nombre romano de la ciudad de Gijón.
