El yacimiento Zn-Pb de Olandieta comprende dos filones de dirección NS, encajados en una serie Carbonífera, junto al stock granítico de Peñas de Haya, en el sector más occidental de los Pirineos. La mineralización presenta una tectonización intensa, originándose una brecha con cantos de siderita, cuarzo, esfalerita y fluorita; matriz de calcita, pirita y calcopirita y cemento de esfalerita, cuarzo, calcopirita y galena. El conjunto aparece distribuido zonalmente en la verticaí y en !a horizontal y con relación a la distancia al granito. Su mineralización principal es de tipo hidrotermal mesotermal, ligada al final de la orogenia hercínica.

The Zn-Pb ore deposit at Olandieta (Oyarzun, Guipúzcoa) comprises two veins, striking approximately NS and cutting across slate beds of the Carboniferous formation, near to Peñas de Haya granitic stock, situated in the western part of Pyrenees. Mineralization shows a cataclastic deformation, arising a breccia with clasts of siderite, quartz, sphalerite and fluorite; matrix of calcite, quartz, pyrite and calcopirite and cementing material constituted of quartz, sphalerite, galene and chalcopyrite. The ore body displays a vertical and horizontal zonal distribution as well with rapport to granite distance. The main mineralization is of hydrothermal mesothermal origin, related to late hercynian orogeny.
