    En este trabajo presentamos la historia externa del códice 558 de la Biblioteca Menéndez Pelayo de Santander, un manuscrito conocido tradicionalmente como la Historia Troyana “bilingüe” por combinar el castellano y el gallego en su redacción final. Se trata de un manuscrito en origen castellano encargado por el rey Pedro I de Castilla hacia 1365-69 que, tras un importante deterioro, sería restaurado y completado en gallego poco tiempo después (ca. 1369-73) en el círculo nobiliario coruñés de la Casa de Andrade. Nos centraremos fundamentalmente en las vicisitudes por las que pasó el manuscrito tras su incorporación en el valioso patrimonio cultural de la Casa de Astorga-Altamira (siglo XVI) y su adquisición en Madrid por parte Marcelino Menéndez Pelayo a finales del siglo XIX.

    We present in this article the external history of codex 558 of Menendez Pelayo Library, a manuscript traditionally known as the Trojan History “bilingual” (XIVth century) by combining Castilian and Galician in its final drafting. This is a manuscript originally written in Castilian commissioned by the king Peter I of Castile about 1365-69, that, after a significant deterioration, would be restored and completed in Galician a little bit later (ca. 1369-1373), into the circle of the nobiliary house of Andrade, from A Coruña. We will be mainly focused on the vicissitudes through which this manuscript has passed after its incorporation to the valuable cultural heritage of Astorga-Altamira’s house (XVIth century) and its acquisition in Madrid by Marcelino Menéndez Pelayo at the end of the XIXth century.
