En este artículo necrológico se hace un recorrido de la vida de René Andioc. Este autor nació el 11 de abril de 1930 en Cerbère, y falleció en Toulouse el 14 de marzo de 2011. Se destaca el temprano interés de Andioc por España y su lengua. Así, entre 1948 y 1952 realizó estudios de castellano en la Universidad de Montpellier, donde, además de la licenciatura en Lengua y Literatura Españolas, obtuvo diplomaturas en Filología Catalana y Francesa. Más adelante, fue catedrático entre 1970 y 1979, en la Universidad de Pau, donde fundó el Centro de Investigaciones Hispánicas. De 1979 a 1990 lo fue en la de Perpiñán, y allí permaneció hasta 2008 como catedrático emérito y honorario, dedicado exclusivamente a la investigación. Se concluye con que René Andioc ha sido uno de los más brillantes ejemplos de la mejor tradición de la Universidad francesa.

In this obituary, a tour of the life of René Andioc is given. This author was born on 11 April 1930 in Cerbère, and died in Toulouse on 14 March 2011. It highlights Andioc’s early interest in Spain and its language. Between 1948 and 1952 he studied Spanish at the University of Montpellier, where, in addition to his degree in Spanish Language and Literature, he obtained degrees in Catalan and French Philology. Later, he was professor between 1970 and 1979, at the University of Pau, where he founded the Hispanic Research Center. From 1979 to 1990 he was in Perpignan, and there he remained until 2008 as emeritus and honorary professor, dedicated exclusively to research. We conclude that René Andioc has been one of the most brilliant examples of the best tradition of the French University.
