Cumplido el centenario de la configuración de la nueva Roma como capital del Estado unificado de Italia,uno de los valores patrimoniales más importantes dela misma es el conjunto de monumentos públicos quefueron diseminándose por los nuevos espacios de laciudad, dentro de un programa perfectamente planificado con la intención de crear unos nuevos símbolosy una nueva imagen en el paisaje urbano. La permanencia en el tiempo de esos valores, y también sustransformaciones, apreciación y nuevos significados,enriquecen y actualizan las relaciones entre arte, patrimonio, ciudad y comunicación, convirtiéndose asíen un ejemplo especialmente significativo de las relaciones entre arte público y ciudad.

This year is the centenary of the configuration of thenew Rome as the capital of unified Italy. One of mostimportant heritage values of the same is the set of public monuments that were spreading through the newspaces of the city, within a carefully planned programwith the intention of creating a new symbol and a newimages in the urban landscape.
