    La pintura Number 5 de Jackson Pollock fue adquiridaaproximadamente por 144.5 millones de dólares, es lapintura más costosa del mundo. La pintura que le sigueen venta, fue realizada por Willem de Kooning tituladaWoman III con un costo de 137.5 millones de dólares.Willem de Kooning fue otro expresionista abstractode Nueva York y amigo personal del mismo Pollock.La ciudad de Nueva York reemplazó a Paris comocapital del arte y está posicionada como la más representativa e importante del arte actual. Este artículo esuna reflexión en base a la información y experienciassobre la posible realidad de esta situación. Se revisanbrevemente los orígenes de la pintura en Nueva York yla situación en la cual se encuentra la pintura y la plástica en la ciudad actualmente. Además de las brevesreflexiones económicas, sociales, políticas y estéticasque le dan valor a su arte. El artículo es una reflexiónque tiene como finalidad el saber los contenidos sobreel arte plástico abstracto que se representa como valioso en Nueva York y de diversas reflexiones estéticasacerca de la plástica en la llamada Gran Manzana.

    The painting Number 5 of Jackson Pollock was acquired approximately by 144.5 million dollars, itis the costliest painting of the world. The city of NewYork replaced Paris as the capital of the art andit is positioned like the most representative andimportant of the current art.This article is a reflection on the basis of the information and experiences on the possible reality of thissituation. The origins of the painting are checked briefin New York and the situation in which one finds thepainting and the plastic arts in the city nowadays. Besides the brief economic, social, political and aestheticreflections that give him value to his art. The article isa reflection that has as purpose know the contents onthe plastic abstract art that is represented like valuably in New York and of diverse aesthetic reflections itbrings great apple over of the plastic arts.
