Resumen de Narraciones épico-novelescas en la Estoria de España alfonsí

La inclusión de narraciones épico-novelescas como el Mainetey Bernardo del Carpio en la Estoria de España que mandó componer el rey Alfonso X plantea numerosos interrogantes acerca del origen de estos relatos, su historicidad, las fuentes orales o escritas en las que se basan, su ideología y, en última instancia, su interpretación. También se han formulado diversas hipótesis sobre las motivaciones que pudieron haber inducido a los cronistas a relatar de manera más o menos exten-sa estas historias, preservando su estructura y muchos de sus rasgos literarios, lo que marca el comienzo de la prosa literaria en castellano. Algunas de estas ideas deben ser cuestionadas o modificadas a la luz de los hallazgos de investigaciones recientes.

The inclusion of such novelistic-epic tales as Mainete and Bernardo del Carpio in the Estoria de España that King Alfonso X had composed poses numerous questions about the origin of these stories, their historicity, the oral or written sources in which they are based, their ideology, and lastly, their interpretation. Also, there have been several hypotheses about the motivations that led the chroniclers to narrate these stories in a somewhat developed form, preserving their structure and many literary traits, which marks the beginning of Castilian literary prose. Some of these ideas should now be questioned or modified in light of the more recent findings that critics have put forward
