    Cet article analyse les différentes interprétations de la Guerre civile espagnole, depuis le début du conflit jusqu’à nos jours. Entre 1936 et 1939, et durant la dictature, deux visions du conflits existaient: pour les franquistes il s’agissait d’une lutte entre l’Espagne et l’anti-Espagne; pour les républicains, c’était une lutte entre le peuple et les militaires. Après la transition démocratique, les historiens furent proches d’un accord autour de l’idée de la multiplicité des causes et des responsabilités universelles de la guerre. Mais récemment, un nouveau conflit a surgi, avec les interprétations néo-franquistes qui désignent la gauche comme responsable de l’éclosion de la guerre.

    O artigo examina as diferentes interpretações da Guerra Civil de Espanha, desde o início do conflito até à actualidade. Em 1936-39 e durante a ditadura, existiam duas visões em conflito: para os franquistas, fora a luta entre a Espanha e a Anti-Espanha, e para os republicanos, a luta entre o povo e os militares. Após a transição para a democracia, os historiadores estiveram próximo de um acordo sobre a multiplicidade das causas e as responsabilidades universais da guerra. Mas recentemente iniciou-se um novo confronto, com as interpretações neo-franquistas a culparem a esquerda pelo eclodir da guerra.

    The article examines the different interpretations of the Spanish Civil War, from the beginning of the conflict until today. In 1936-39, and during the dictatorship, there were two conflicting views: for the Francoists, it was the fight between Spain and Anti-Spain, and for the Republicans between the military and the people. After the transition to democracy, the historians were near to an agreement about the multiplicity of the causes and the universal responsibilities for the war. But in recent years a new confrontation has begun with the Neo-Francoist interpretations blaming the left for the outbreak of the conflict.
