Recientemente, las distintas autonomías van poniendo en marcha Servicios de Antropología Forense con funciones fundamentalmente identificativas, tanto forenses como judiciales. Por otro lado, y trascendiendo a las necesidades periciales, también realizan estudios de Antropología Física y de Paleopatología. No en balde cuentan con los conocimientos específicos, el aparataje adecuado y la tecnología necesaria para el estudio de restos óseos humanos.

All the Spanish autonomous communities are beginning to work with Services of Forensic Anthropology with identifying functions, both forensic and judicial. Apart from the judicial necessities, Physical Anthropology and Paleopathology are also studied. To achieve this, they have the specific knowledge, the appropiate gadgets and the necessary technology to study the osseous mortal remains.
