Resumen de Antecedentes bíblicos y occidentales del ‘pájaro solitario’ del Cántico espiritual

La alegoría del ‘pájaro solitario’ que aparece en las Declaraciones del Cántico espiritual y en otros textos atribuidos a San Juan de la Cruz ha sido objeto de numerosos estudios desde los años ochenta con el fin de dilucidar su origen. Algunos investigadores lo han relacionado con el fénix, frente a las interpretaciones que le atribuyen un origen persa o diferente. Este trabajo aporta nuevos datos e ideas favorables a una tradición bíblica y occidental que vinculan el ‘pájaro solitario’ con el fénix por antonomasia.

The allegory of the ‘pájaro solitario’ or 'solitary bird' that appears in the Declaraciones of the Cántico espiritual and in other texts attributed to Saint John of the Cross has been the subject of numerous studies since the 1980s in order to elucidate its origin. Some researchers have related it to the phoenix, against the interpretations that attribute a Persian or different origin. This work provides new data and ideas favorable to a biblical and Western tradition that link the 'pájaro solitario’ with the phoenix par excellence.
