  • Resumen
    • Advanced Oxidation Technologies have been defined as processes which involve the generation of highly reactive oxyradicals. These systems show promise for the destruction of non-biodegradable and hazardous organic substances in industrial wastewater. Two types of advanced oxidation processes are considered in this paper: 1) systems that use high energy oxidants (03,H₂0₂, UV, etc.) at ambient temperature to initiate the oxidation reaction, and 2) processes that use molecular oxygen and high temperature and pressure to initiate the reaction (wet oxidation at subcritical and supercritical conditions). The fundamental aspects of these oxidation technologies are discussed, the application framework is defined, and the technology development is indicated.
