Fragmentos textiles y sistemas territoriales del carbón Experiencias de re-significación del patrimonio industrial en Tomé y Lota, Chile

    Resumen: Desde hace más de una década se desarrollan en Región del Biobío, significativos pro cesos de uso social del patrimonio protagonizados por agrupaciones ciudadanas que se movilizan en pos de la defensa del patrimonio industrial carbonífero y textil, en un contexto de ciudades impactadas por fuertes procesos de desindustrialización. A través de desarrollo de entrevistas, fuentes secundarias y revisión de prensa, se reconstitu yen procesos de apropiación patrimonial desarrollados en Lota y Tomé, describiendo y analizando sus significaciones y propuestas. Los resultados plantean la existencia de experiencias de re significación del patrimonio industrial que amplían el marco de lo es tablecido, proponiendo formas innovadoras de aproximación dadas tanto por el rescate de fragmentos específicos cargados de un gran sentido afectivo -como ocurre en Tomé - como por la reivindicación de una noción más amplia de territorio articulada en base al rescate de un conjunto de sitios que configuran un sistema patrimonial, como sucede en Lota. Se concluye que sus propuestas de gestión participativa desafían las visiones hegemónicas, instalando la interrogante sobre la posibilidad de establecer una gobernanza de su patrimonio desde el territorio, en el contexto de un modelo de desarrollo fuertemente centralista y articulado a la mercantilización del patrimonio.

    Abstract: For more than a decade significant processes of social use of heritage are developed in the Biobío Region, being carried out by citizen groups that move towards the defen se of the coal and textile industrial heritage in a context of cities impacted by strong deindustrialization processes. Through press review, secondary sources and interview development, patrimonial appropriation processes developed in Lota and Tomé are re constituted describing and analyzing their meanings and proposals. The results suggest the existence of two experiences of a re-granted significance to the industrial heritage, that broaden the framework of the established, proposing innovative approaches, given both by the rescue of specific fragments loaded with a great affective sense - as in Tomé - and by the authorization of a broader notion of the articulated territory based on res cuing a set of sites that make up a heritage system, as happens in Lota. It is concluded that participatory management proposals challenge the hegemonic visions installing the question about whether it is possible to establish a governance of their assets from the territory in the context of a development model strongly centralist and articulated to heritage commodification.
