Resumen de Recepción crítica de Concha Méndez en la prensa de la Edad de Plata (1926-1936)

  Solo en los últimos años la historiografía poética española está llegando a reconocer el error de haber menospreciado la significativa presencia de la autoría femenina en la poesía española del primer tercio del siglo XX. Los datos exhumados mediante una investigación minuciosa y desprejuiciada en la prensa especializada revelan que su recepción crítica fue más relevantes de la que hasta ahora se había considerado y sus libros fueron reseñados y valorados en un grado mucho mayor de lo que ha venido admitiéndose. Las páginas que siguen se dedican a la recepción crítica de una de las escritoras a mi juicio más relevante de aquel tiempo: Concha Méndez, porque sobre ella ha caído un doble muro de silencio, el colectivo en que les sumió el exilio y el particular e injusto de haber sido «la sombra de», cuando su personalidad tenía valores propios y así fue reconocida en la prensa.

  In recent years, poetic historiography has recognized the contempt and indifference towards female poets of the first decades of the 20th century in Spain. As a result, we have carried out a thorough investigation in the specialized press, which has provided us highly relevant data. These data show that the critical reception of these poets was very important and that it has not been studied enough. Her books were reviewed and valued at their historical moment. This paper studies the critical reception of one of the most important women writers of the early twentieth century: Concha Méndez. Méndez’s poetic work has not been studied in depth or in all its significance, for two reasons: first, she has been a forgotten figure because of exile; and, secondly, her figure was in the background because of his personal life. In this paper, I am going to highlight the values of his personality and the recognition she had in the press at the time.
