Resumen de Potencial Pedagógico e interconectividad en Escenarios Transmediapara la salud: Estudio de caso de comunidades virtuales españolasde runners

Oskar Almazán López, Sara Osuna Acedo

  • This case study analyzes virtual environments in Spanish that allow recreational runners to learnabout running and health: Transmedia Scenarios for Autonomous Knowledge Building (TSAKB). The analy-sis of these websites delimits the Pedagogical Potential they offer to runners and makes it possible to observeathletes’ behaviors in their search and exchange of information about running and health. Using a mixedmethodology, from the complementation and triangulation of data, the 152 most followed digital entities andtheir functionalities are identified. In addition, a content analysis is carried out that addresses the informational, media and transferential quality of these scenarios. These data are complemented with the responses of 203runners to a questionnaire. As a result, the ISI Taxonomy (Informational, Social, and Individualized) of relateddigital entities is proposed and the Pedagogical Potential that the Internet offers for autonomous learning isrecognized. It is found that the digital scenarios most frequented by this group of people are not those that offerthe best information on running and health. Paradoxically, it is also shown that these scenarios have a highlevel of transferability to other aspects of life. Among the conclusions is the need to improve the media andinformation literacy of athletes in their lifelong learning.
