La gnoseología del mexicano en el protagonista de El gesticuladorde Rodolfo Usigli

    En este artículo hago, primero, la descripción de un tema discutido por los intelectuales mexicanos de mediados del siglo XX: el ser del mexicano. En particular, centro mi interés en un conjunto de filósofos conocidos como el Grupo Hiperión, que sometieron su tema de estudio al rigor de dos disciplinas intelectuales muy en boga en esos años: el análisis marxista de la sociedad y el análisis psicológico freudiano. En segundo lugar, y a partir de lo ahí explicado, tomo la figura central del drama El gesticulador, para analizar en las conductas del profesor César Rubio lo que los filósofos del Grupo Hiperión dijeron sobre el ser del mexicano y que dicho profesor encarna cabalmente. En particular, centro mi interés en los aspectos sociales, históricos, políticos y psicológicos que determinan la conducta del personaje de Rodolfo Usigli.

    In this article I first describe a topic discussed by Mexican intellectuals in the mid-twentieth century: the being of the Mexican. In particular, I focus my interest on a group of philosophers known as the Hyperion Group, who subjected their subject of study to the rigor of two intellectual disciplines that were very much in vogue in those years: the Marxist analysis of society and the Freudian psychological analysis. Second, and from what has been explained there, I take the central figure of the drama El gesticulador, to analyse in the behaviors of professor César Rubio what the philosophers of the Hiperión Group said about the being of the Mexican and that said professor fully embodies. I focus my interest on the social, historical, political and psychological aspects that determine the behavior of Rodolfo Usigli's character.
