Resumen de Tratamiento de la patología respiratoria aguda en el paciente oncológico con infección por COVID-19

La infección por COVID-19 afecta principalmente a nivel pulmonar y puede derivar en síndrome de distress respiratorio agudo (SDRA). Actualmente no existen fármacos que hayan demostrado eficacia en este contexto. El tratamiento recomendado pasa por medidas de soporte y ventilatorias. Los pacientes con cáncer presentan mayor riesgo de infección y de complicaciones respiratorias por coronavirus. En esta revisión analizamos la evidencia actual en el manejo de la patología respiratoria aguda en pacientes con infección por COVID-19 y sus implicaciones en pacientes con cáncer.

Lungs are the main organ affected by COVID-19 dis- ease, that can lead to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Currently there are no approved drugs that have been effective in this context. Recommended treatments are support and ventilatory therapies. Cancer patients are at in- creased risk of infection and respiratory complications from coronavirus.
In this review we analyze the current evidence in the man- agement of acute respiratory pathology in patients with COV- ID-19 infection and its implications in cancer patients
