A methodological proposal is presented for the design and selection of contents for geotourism routes using geoheritage at regional scale, based on 16 tasks or steps that generate partial results of heritage interest (thematic inventories, maps, lists, etc.); that selects the geosites where the stops of the route are located; and that optimizes the route among them, adapting them to the territorial scope, the target public and the availability of material and human resources. Its application to the province of Segovia (Central Spain) and double target public (general public and specialists) has resulted in seven geo-routes with 57 geosites as main route stops, 23 of them for all audiences. With all this information, contents have been elaborated for web pages and brochures of the geo-routes available in printed and digital format, which will be disseminated in the channels of the tourism sector (tourist offices, fairs, publicity and media campaigns, etc.). The methodology has proven to be effective and can be exported to other territories.
