Resumen de Nuevas traducciones decimonónicas de Safo en castellano

En este trabajo rescatamos del olvido varias traducciones castellanas del siglo XIX de Safo que han pasado inadvertidas en los estudios de historia de la traducción, bien por encontrarse insertas en la obra de otros autores griegos, bien por aparecer publicadas en las efímeras páginas de periódicos de la época. Así, en primer lugar, nos vamos a detener en las traducciones que del tratado de Pseudo-Longino Sobre lo sublime se hicieron en el siglo XIX, donde aparece el conocido frag. 31 («Oda a una mujer amada»); en segundo lugar, analizaremos las versiones de siete poemas de la poeta lesbia que Pedro Bandrés publicó en el periódico gaditano El Progreso en septiembre de 1870.

In this paper we are going to receive several nineteenth-century Castilian translations of Sappho that have gone unnoticed in translation history, because they are inserted in the work of other Greek authors, or they appear published in the ephemeral pages of old newspapers. Thus, firstly, we are going to review the nineteenth-century translations of the treatise On the Sublime by Pseudo-Longinus, where the well-known frag. 31 («Ode to a Loved One») is included. Secondly, we will analyze the translations of seven poems by the poet from Lesbos that Pedro Bandres published in the Cadiz newspaper El Progreso in September 1870.
