Resumen de Contribuciones documentales a las cruces de orfebrería valencianas del siglo XVI

Con este trabajo se pretende aportar nuevas referencias documentales de la platería valenciana en la ejecución de cruces procesionales, Lignum Crucis u otras modalidades de cruces realizadas por plateros valencianos del siglo XVI. Así, podemos comprobar el gran auge adquirido por el centro platero de Valencia durante esta centuria, en concreto en la contratación de cruces, que fueron realizadas para las diversas parroquias de la ciudad y para otras localidades, tanto del Reino de Valencia, como de otros reinos, por los más afamados plateros del momento. Se ofrece la autoría de algunas cruces, algunas de ellas aún conservadas, y se ha podido proporcionar el repertorio iconográfico de varias cruces.

The aim of this work is to provide new documentary references to Valencian silverware in the execution of processional crosses, Lignum Crucis or other forms of crosses made by 16th century Valencian silversmiths. Thus, we can verify the great boom acquired by the Valencia silversmith center during this century, specifically in the contracting of crosses, which were made for the various parishes of the city and for other towns, both in the Kingdom of Valencia, as well as anothers kingdoms, by the most famous silversmiths of the moment. The authorship of some crosses is offered, some of them still preserved, and the iconographic repertoire of several crosses has been offered.
