The need for a sustainable source of animal feed has led producers to use endogenous resources, such as corn, which transformed into silage is an alternative to improve ruminant production systems in areas that suffer long periods of drought, with minimal forage availability. The present work was developed in Río Verde, Santa Elena province, with the objective of evaluating the yield and nutritional value of the corn “Illusion CPR” ancestral variety of Las Balsas as a forage species for bovine feeding using the silage processing method. The experiment used a DBCA with factorial arrangement with three doses of nitrogen (120, 150 and 180 kg / ha) and three planting distances (20 * 80, 25 * 80, 30 * 80 cm) with three repetitions. Plant height was evaluated at 30, 45 and 60 days; yield at three cutting ages (70, 80 and 90 days) and the bromatological analysis carried out on a homogenized sample of the nitrogenous treatments (3 samples N1, N2 and N3). The results showed at 30 days, a higher height for the nitrogen factor with the dose of 180 kg / ha, but at 45 and 60 days the means showed homogeneity in the treatments. In the biomass yield, the cutting at 70 days with the T4 that obtained 81 t / ha stands out. Cut 3 excels in protein, dry matter, fiber, ash.
