El poeta modernista argentino Enrique Banchs ha sido en gran medida descuidado, si no totalmente olvidado por parte de la crítica literaria. Siguiendo algún extraño designio, se han cumplido sus deseos de pasar por la vida sin ser apenas percibido y enterrar su obra literaria en el más profundo silencio. Este artículo pretende explorar el tema del olvido en la poética banchiana a partir de las íntimas oscilaciones entre el yo poético y las concepciones del tiempo, la muerte y la memoria.

The argentine modernist poet Enrique Banchs has been greatly neglected, if not entirely forgotten by literary criticism. For some mysterious reason, this fulfils his wish to go through life unnoticed and to bury his literary work deep down in silence. This article aims to explore the topic of forgetfulness in the banchian poetics focusing on the intimate oscillations between the poetic persona and the concepts of time, death and memory.
