Resumen de Pedagogy of Practical Learning in the Architectural Ideation and Communication

  • In the context of social, cultural, environmental, and technological changes which the new architectural paradigms are going through, our didactic approach in the initiation of the architectural training introduces new problems, temporary references, and the digital media daily in the learning activities. In the introductory workshops in architectural configuration and communication, research and reflection processes are produced, guided by strategies that stimulate the perception and the action. Creative problems solving techniques are incorporated which accelerate processes, increase productivity, and develop expressive resources. The tentative actions, the continuous exploration and experimentation, the processes, in short, are much more important and essential than the results. It is the action that has to trigger a new students’ vision or particular perception that will lead to more complex conceptual constructions and to the verbal expression of such constructions. Through these manual or digital actions, as well as basic and simple productive and also post-productive techniques, transfers from practical situations to the most abstract mental functions and the transformation of the students’ consciousness are intended.
