  • Resumen
    • Rem Koolhaas’ latest exhibition at Guggenheim New York Museum, Countryside: The future in 2020, is thought-provoking about his graphic evolution in this important channel for architects like him and the relationship with the preterit ones. There are architects with a predominantly graphic discourse, others with a totally theoretical one and then, there are those who, like the Dutchman, need to merge words and images in a continuous explanation of everything they do. In their case, the discourse is the strategic and graphic resources are the tactics. OMA and AMO’s exhibitions are a powerful architectural communication channel. Considering textuality criterion, the Koolhaas’ discourse based on exhibitions which he has taken part in or curated, is discussed in this text. In this discourse, recurrences and contexts that makes cohesion throughout his trajectory can be observed. The exhibition as an enabling vehicle for the words and the images comes to incorporate, as the last of his resources, the architecture that houses the exhibition as part of the discourse.
