Confiabilidad y validez factorial del inventario breve para la medición del "engagement" estudiantil

    El desarrollo de modelos teóricos tiene que ir aparejado a la construcción y validación de instrumentos. En ese sentido, si se desea avanzar en la consolidación del Modelo AREA para el estudio del engagement se deben realizar mayores indagaciones al respecto: en este caso, la principal limitación es la existencia de solo dos instrumentos que miden el engagement laboral por lo que se decidió realizar la adaptación de los ítems al contexto de las instituciones educativas y en este trabajo se reportan las propiedades psicométricas de este versión. Para el logro de este objetivo se llevó a cabo un estudio instrumental mediante la aplicación del Inventario Breve para la Medición del Engagement Estudiantil a 246 estudiantes de educación superior. Sus principales resultados indican una confiabilidad que oscila entre aceptable y excelente y una estructura tetra dimensional que coincide con el modelo teórico utilizado. Estas propiedades psicométricas hacen del Inventario Breve para la Medición del Engagement Estudiantil una buena opción para la indagación del engagement en población estudiantil.

    The development of theoretical models must go hand in hand with the construction and validation of instruments. In this sense, if it is desired to advance in the consolidation of the AREA Model for the study of engagement, further investigations must be carried out in this regard: in this case, the main limitation is the existence of only two instruments that measure work engagement, so decided to adapt the items to the context of educational institutions and in this paper the psychometric properties of this version are reported. To achieve this objective, an instrumental study was carried out by applying the Brief Inventory for the Measurement of Student Engagement to 246 higher education students. Its main results indicate a reliability that ranges between acceptable and excellent and a four-dimensional structure that coincides with the theoretical model used. These psychometric properties make the Brief Inventory for the Measurement of Student Engagement a good option for investigating engagement in the student population.
